Benomar calls all Yemeni parties to abide by power transfer deal

The UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Yemen, Jamal Benomar has called on all parties in Yemen to be committed to the implementation of the power . transfer agreement, Saba Agency reported
Benomar affirmed, in a press release issued by his office in Sana’a during his separate meetings with head of the supreme body of Islah Party Mohamed al-Yadomi and representatives of Ansar Allah, the need for the all parties’ commitment to implement the power transfer agreement (the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism), the outcomes of the national dialogue conference (NDC) and the Security Council resolutions as a basis for moving forward towards building a new Yemeni state
In this regard, the UN official stressed the importance of the political forces’ cooperation to provide a favorable climate for the completion of the remaining tasks of the transition process
Benomar assured at the same time the keenness of the UN organization to support the efforts to implement the NDC’s outcomes, including the role of constitution drafting committee and the National Commission to oversee the implementation of the dialogue outcomes
