Forces were deployed to the streets of Yemen's capital city of Sanaa as the Houth Group ordered its militants to hold mass demonstrations in it and other cities to demand canceling a recently approved oil subsidy reform, Yemen Post said. .
Last night, the Interior Ministry tightened measures at entrances to the capital and ordered to prevent carrying weapons in the city even by those who have weapon permits. Houthis are attempting to lead an Islamic revolution in Yemen as Shia religious leaders did in Iran in the late 70's.
Moreover, jet fighters are flying over the capital since early today after the Houthis' leader, Abdulmalik, called on the forces to join the people in their demonstrations. In a televised speech last night, he said that his followers will pitch large tents outside the capital and give the authorities to Friday as a deadline to cancel the reform.
